Delete your account

This is the quickest way. Your account is deleted straight away.

1. Open CabBooks and sign in.
2. Open the menu and choose Settings.
3. Choose Delete account.
4. Type DELETE, enter your password if asked, and confirm.

Deleting your account is permanent. It can't be undone.

Use this if you no longer have the app, have lost your phone, or can't get past two step verification.

1. Email hello@cabbooks.online from the email address on your CabBooks account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
2. We email that address to check the request really came from you.
3. Reply to confirm. We delete nothing until you do.
4. We delete your account within one month, usually sooner, and email to tell you it's done.

• Your income and expense records, including corrections.
• Your history of quarterly updates sent to HMRC.
• Your connection to HMRC.
• Your two step verification settings.
• Your audit trail.
• Your subscription status, and the record our payments provider holds for us.
• Your account and sign in details.

We don't keep a copy, or even a note that your account existed.

• Our database backups. Your data stays in them for up to 7 days, then it is gone for good.
• Emails you sent us, including problem reports. We keep these for up to 2 years, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
• HMRC keeps the quarterly updates you have already sent. That is HMRC's record, not ours.
• Google Play or the App Store keep their own record of your purchases.

Download your records first. You must keep your business records for at least 5 years after the 31 January deadline for the tax year they relate to. That is your legal duty, and we can't get your records back once they are deleted.

In the app, open the menu and choose Export records.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play or the App Store first, so you are not charged again.
